Drive With Mediride

Drive With Purpose in the Twin Cities

Drive for Mediride as a medical transportation driver in the Minneapolis–St. Paul area. Meaningful work, flexible scheduling, and direct contact with the owner.

Why Mediride

Why Drive with Mediride?

Mediride contracts with independent 1099 drivers who run their own vehicles — the standard arrangement across Minnesota NEMT. You keep control of your schedule and your vehicle; we bring the routes, the scheduling and the compliance side.

01

You Set Your Own Schedule

You are a contractor, not a shift worker. You take the routes that fit your week and decline the ones that do not.

02

Recurring Routes, Not One-Offs

Our focus is standing weekly work — dialysis and adult day centres — so the same run repeats rather than being chased trip by trip.

03

Paid Per Trip, On a Clear Rate

Rates are agreed in writing before you take a route, and paid on completed trips. No commission puzzle.

04

Meaningful Work

These are people getting to treatment they cannot miss. For many riders you are the reason the appointment happens.

What Mediride Brings

  • Route sourcing and facility relationships
  • Scheduling and rider coordination
  • Our four-level certification programme, 19 modules
  • Guidance through MnDOT STS certification and inspection
  • Dispatch support during operating hours
  • Written rates agreed before you take a route
  • Payment on completed trips, not on collections
The Arrangement

This is a 1099 independent contractor role

We want to be straight about the model, because it decides whether this is worth your time. You are contracted, not employed. You drive your own vehicle, you carry your own insurance, and you handle your own taxes. In exchange you keep control of your schedule and you are not tied to shifts. This is how most Minnesota NEMT operators work, so if you have driven NEMT before, none of it will be new.

You bring

  • Your own vehicle
  • Your own insurance on it
  • Your STS certification and inspection
  • Your own tax handling (1099-NEC)

Mediride brings

  • The routes and the facility contracts
  • Scheduling and rider coordination
  • Certification training and compliance guidance
  • An agreed written rate per trip
Qualifications

What You Need

  • Valid Minnesota driver’s licence and a clean driving record (MVR check)
  • A DHS background study clearance — required before carrying any passenger
  • A vehicle that meets MnDOT Special Transportation Service standards and passes inspection under Minn. R. ch. 8840
  • Your own auto insurance, written to cover for-hire passenger transport — a standard personal policy excludes it
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Completion of our four-level, 19-module certification programme and 40 hours of supervised driving before carrying passengers alone
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Reliable, punctual, and genuinely patient with riders

Where we are right now, honestly: Mediride is owner-operated and building its contractor bench ahead of facility contracts starting. We are taking applications now so that routes can be staffed the week they are signed — but we are not promising you volume on a date we cannot yet name. If you would rather be contacted only once real routes exist, say so in the form and that is exactly what we will do.
