Privacy Policy
Effective August 15, 2026 · Last updated August 15, 2026
1. Introduction
Mediride LLC("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy and the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our non-emergency medical transportation services, visit gomediride.com, or communicate with us by phone, text message (SMS), or email.
SMS consent is not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Your phone number and SMS opt-in are used only by Mediride, for appointment confirmations, ride updates, and service-related communications.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Contact information: name, address, phone number, email address
- Identification: date of birth and emergency contact information
- Health information: mobility needs and medical conditions that affect transportation, which we use only to confirm our service level is appropriate for you and to refer you elsewhere when it is not
- Coverage information: if — and only if — you ask us to help you understand your transportation coverage. Mediride does not currently bill insurance or Medical Assistance, so we do not require this to book a ride
- Transportation details: pickup and drop-off locations, appointment dates and times
- Communication records: calls, text messages, emails, and other correspondence with Mediride
We do not collect payment card numbers directly. Card payments, where offered, are handled by a third-party payment processor.

By providing your mobile number and opting in, you consent to receive SMS messages including appointment confirmations and reminders, en-route notifications, service updates, billing notifications, and customer satisfaction requests.
No third-party sharing: SMS consent is not shared with third parties or affiliates. Your phone number is used only by Mediride, for the purposes described in this policy.

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier's plan. Contact your carrier for details about your messaging plan.
5. How We Share Your Information
5.1 Healthcare providers and facilities
Where you have asked us to coordinate with them, or where a facility has arranged your transportation, we may share the minimum information necessary — such as your name, pickup time, and appointment details — to schedule and confirm your ride.
5.2 Payers and transportation brokers
Mediride does not currently bill insurance, Medical Assistance (Medicaid), or transportation brokers, and does not share your information with them for billing. If that changes, we will update this policy before any such sharing begins, and share only the minimum necessary for reimbursement.
5.3 Service providers
We may share information with third-party providers who help us operate — scheduling and dispatch software, payment processing, phone/SMS/email platforms, and data storage and security. All are required to maintain the confidentiality and security of your information.
5.4 Legal requirements
We may disclose information when required by law, including:
- In response to court orders, subpoenas, or legal process
- To comply with regulatory requirements
- To protect the safety of passengers, personnel, or the public
- To prevent fraud or illegal activity
No marketing to third parties: we do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. SMS consent is never shared with third-party marketers or affiliates.
6. Data Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted transmission and storage, access controls and authentication, regular review of our security practices, HIPAA-aligned handling of protected health information, and privacy and security training for anyone who handles passenger information on our behalf.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable precautions to safeguard your data.
7. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as necessary to provide services and to meet legal, regulatory, and record-keeping obligations that apply to Minnesota transportation and healthcare records. When it is no longer needed, we securely delete or de-identify it. You may request deletion of your personal data by contacting us, subject to those retention requirements.
8. Your Privacy Rights
