Our Standards

Driver Training & Qualifications

Every Mediride driver must complete a four-level certification program of 19 training modules, then 40 hours of supervised driving, before carrying passengers alone. Every driver must also clear a background study before carrying a passenger. Mediride is owner-operated, and the owner has completed that program in full. Any driver added later completes it before carrying passengers alone.

  • State and federal background check (criminal + DMV)
  • 19 training modules across four certification levels
  • 40 hours supervised driving before driving alone
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • HIPAA privacy awareness training
  • Customer service & sensitivity training

Benefits of Our Service

A Standing Weekly Schedule

Set the schedule once and it repeats, so there is nothing to re-book before every session.

The Same Driver Each Time

Mediride is owner-operated, so the person collecting you is the same person each week — not a new face on a rota.

Planned Around Treatment

Dialysis runs late as often as it runs on time. The return leg is planned around the chair, not around a fixed clock.

Equipment Assistance

Help with dialysis bags, medical equipment and mobility aids is part of the door-to-door service.

Same Service, However You Pay

Private pay and facility-invoiced trips receive identical service.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I set up recurring dialysis transportation?

Call us at (612) 888-1188 or submit an inquiry online. We will ask for your dialysis center, treatment schedule, and address, then set up a standing ride plan with a consistent assigned driver.

What if my dialysis treatment runs longer than expected?

We build buffer time into every dialysis pickup. Your driver will wait, and you can always call or text us with updates. We coordinate directly with dialysis center staff when needed.

How is dialysis transportation paid for?

Most dialysis riders arrange transport privately or through their clinic on a facility-invoiced account. Minnesota Medicaid (Medical Assistance) does cover non-emergency medical transportation for eligible members — call us and we will tell you where your coverage stands.

Do you assist with dialysis equipment and bags?

Absolutely. Your driver assists with dialysis supplies, portable equipment, and any mobility aids from your door to the vehicle and into the facility.
